A recent spate of malicious activated hoax fire alarms in a number of high schools has lead Council chiefs, the Police and the Fire and Rescue Service condemning the reckless behaviour and warn that the malicious emergency callouts could stop genuine emergencies being attended and result in a “needless tragedy”.
One school in South Ayrshire, Scotland has been evacuated seven times in the first 12 days of the new term due to hoax fire alarms, with fire crews attending Troon’s Marr College on seven separate occasions between August 26 and September 6, due to pupils repeatedly setting off the fire bell.
